Marcelo G. Lima is a painter, printmaker and writer. Living in Paris in the early 1980s, he studied printmaking with Jacques Callot. In the Prado in Madrid he was a pupil of Goya and Velazquez. 


He has taught drawing, painting, printmaking, the history and the theory of art in Brazil, in the United States and in Spain. He has illustrated books, worked with animation, painted murals, directed community-based art projects in the US, in Brazil and in Spain. 
His work has been exhibited in the US, Europe and Brazil. Has works in private collections in Europe, Brazil and the US, as well as in public collections such as the Museu de Arte Contemporanea da USP (Sao Paulo), Rutgers Center for Innovative Printmaking (New Brunswick, NJ, USA), Cabinet des Estampes BNF (Paris).
