Gravura Brasileira gallery was founded in 1998 by Alberto Fuks and Eduardo Besen out of their project to show modern and contemporary printmaking art. The gallery is the only place dedicated solely to print art in Brazil. Along its 10 years of existence Gravura Brasileira has become a center of reference, because it organizes national and international exhibitions for both young and renowned artists, as well as lectures and the publication of artist books and printmaking albums. The gallery welcomes artists, visitors, art dealers and curators from all around the world, and maintains exchange programs with Brazilian and foreign studios and institutions. It also holds participation in international art fairs (ArtFrankfurt 2003 and 2004) and exhibitions in foreign cities like Amsterdam, Belize, Heidelberg, Paris, Cardiff, New York, Washington, Mexico City, Ciudad Juarez, Oaxaca, Berlin and Havana.
In May 2008 Gallery Gravura Brasileira opened a new venue on rua Dr. Franco da Rocha, 61, Perdizes, São Paulo with four rooms for temporary exhibitions and more room for our collection that features more than 3000 prints from more than 200 artists from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Germany, Canada, United States and Japan.
